This is a survival or emergency preparedness fire starting kit that uses a 5X magnifying glass with char cloth and tinder to build a fire. Some tinder material is also included to help make a nest in which to obtain an actual flame and fire. Within seconds of consentrating the suns rays through the glass, the char cloth is ignited and the tinder or fire nest is ready to use. This has been tested and proven to work and may take a little practice at first but once you understand the concept, it works like a charm. The glass is kept in a small bag to protect it from scratches or chips. It is easy to pack away for hiking or camping trips.
