    This listing is for one (1) ferro rod with sheath. This is a 5/16 ferro rod fire starter with an authentic deer antler handle. The handle has a small leather lanyard and we made a nice leather sheath to protect it while bouncing around in your fire kit. First two pictures are of the new style sheaths I am making that cover the rod tightly and have a lanyard at both ends. The other sheaths are "mountain man" style and can be made upon request.
    We use this same steel (with various handle material) for all of our outdoor adventures and find it to throw quite a shower of sparks, when struck with a good high carbon steel tool, and makes fire starting a breeze.
    These are handmade in our little shop in Pulaski, TN, and all materials are of very good quality. The handle is a short, compact design that offers maximum length of exposed steel and a good grip without taking up too much room in your pocket or pack.
    All of our products are made of high quality materials, hand craftsmanship, and with the bushcrafter or outdoors person in mind. If we wouldn't use it we don't sell it, period. Thank you for looking at my page.
    Side note: Whether you buy your bushcraft or camping products from me or someone else, please remember to practice with it. Should you be buying this type of product for the purpose of prepping or in the event of some wilderness survival situation, natural disaster, or some other calamity, the time to master any tool is before you need it.     Update March, 1029:
    I recently changed the design of the sheath for our ferro rods. Rather than the "Mountain Man" style seen in the original pictures, I developed a new style I like to call "Hermit Carry" that offers multiple ways to attach our rods to your gear. The sheath hugs the rod very tightly allowing it to be hung on your pack strap upside down, or by the handle, as there is a leather thong at both ends. I will post pictures soon. Just haven't taken any yet. If you would prefer the Mountain Man style, where a portion of the handle is inside the sheath, just let me know upon ordering and I will make yours that way. Thanks.
